I know. I know. Your snail mailbox is bombarded with hardcopy election filler. Your phone machine is jammed with prerecorded pleas from (depending on your party affiliation) Arnold or Jerry, and your television viewing is interrupted by local politicians slamming each other.
So here’s a voting request that only requires a little good taste: Indie Artists Alliance is running a new songwriting contest for their third compilation CD: “Songwriters and Storytellers”. This caught my eye right away, and I can really use your help. Weighing in heavily on the winning song(s) is how listeners rate them. To listen and vote, follow these steps:
- Launch the free Imuzik jukebox by clicking on this player graphic:
- Click the Tracklist button (bottom right).
- Scroll down to my name and song titles (“Entertaining an Angel” and “Good God Man How Big a Car Do You Need”?).
- Click once on each title to hear the song. After each song finishes playing, rank the song by clicking on the number of stars from 1-5 (5 being the highest…hint, hint).
Note: The player ranks a song higher if you let it play all the way through (rather than just letting a portion of it play and then clicking on the next track.) Please let the song finish. The whole process should take about six and a half minutes of your time. 😉
I’m also currently listed the artist of the week in the Imuzik Folk category. If you haven’t stumbled upon it yet, my bio is right underneath the music player.
The voting window on the contest runs until October 30th. Many thanks for your support on this. Remember: Vote wisely, and vote often. (Well, you can really only vote once on each song, but I always like saying that.)
