Don Darue hosts The Risky Biscuit Hayseed Hoot every Saturday morning KTHX (100.1 FM) in Reno, Nevada. The show is also carried on KPND (95.3 FM) in Sandpoint, Idaho.
In Don’s own words, the show plays a “disquieting mix of insurgent Americana…music filled with womanly sass and manly self-pity accented with boozing, drugging, soured relationships and hard living.”
A couple of weeks back, Don played my ode to SUV’s, Good God Man How Big a Car Do You Need? right after the old National Lampoon bit about Monolithic Oil (an old favorite I still happen to have on vinyl). The segment itself was sandwiched between Audrey Auld and The Waybacks. You couldn’t ask for better company.
Don posts his playlist here and a downloadable MP3 of most of the show here. If you’d like to hear more from my CD, Spotted Mule and Other Tales on The Risky Biscuit Hayseed Hoot, shoot Don an email.
By the way, this is the first cut from my CD to get radio play. I guess that makes it the single.
