Sherry Austin has been a big influence on me since I started playing in front of people and writing about five years ago. (I still remember her reminding me to keep smiling as I played through a wrong chord here and there. Those kinda tips really stick.)

Her latest CD, Drive On Back, is now available on CDBaby. Here’s a review I posted on the site:

“Another great mix of original tunes and choice covers. Retooling “Wagon Wheel” as a duet with Keith Greeninger is some kinda brilliant. The choir and rotating lead vocals (between Sherry, Ginny Mitchell, and Sharon Allen) on “Hallelujah” are just…”lush” (and I swear I’ve never used that word before). Nice to see that the car thread remains (with the title track), and I’m glad to finally have a recorded copy of “The Sparrow” (my favorite Sherry original).”
